What’s on your face?!

Remember my vegan winter skin care products review? I have decided to continue discussing vegan skin care in a new series: “What’s on your face?!” In this series of posts, I’ll share a few of my favorite products, tricks, and tips for skin care from makeup to foods to get your skin glowing.

The beauty industry is a charged topic for many people, especially for vegans and feminists. For many years, I’ve gone without any makeup at all–only using the bare minimum in terms of skincare products and practices included. Going without makeup worked for me then, and continues to work for me now on a fairly regular basis. But wearing a bit of makeup here and there has also become something that works for me too.

I have mixed feelings in writing a series like this. While cosmetics are generally targeted at women, my posts are meant to be read, used, and enjoyed by people of all gender identities and I am in no way perpetuating the myth or social expectation that makeup makes people (thanks to the media, women in particular) look “better” or “more attractive.” In this set of blog posts, I hope to share a few things that I love with all of you, and hopefully create a resource for those in search of cruelty free skincare and cosmetic products.

I’ll be posting an installment from “What’s on your face?!” every Friday-the day I usually try and have a little spa time for myself and slather on my favorite mud mask, have a cup of tea, a bubble bath, and watch an episode or two of one of my beloved, dark TV shows-in hope that you too will be able to have a little time to try out what I’m sharing that week. During the week I’ll stick to my usual vegan lifestyle eats and antics.

Any cruelty free products you’re dying to know about? Tricks and tips you’d like to see featured? Drop me a note in the comments section and let me know!

Note: I have gone back and changed the original winter skin care post‘s title to go along with the rest of the series. Now, if you search for “What’s on your face?!” All the posts will be displayed.
